Having Fun    Comments

While in Hutchinson last week, ran into Bruce and LeAnn Brower on their new Harley trike!  The Brower’s try to ride every Wednesday with a group of motorcyclists that ride out of town for dinner before returning back to Hutch.

I rode with the group a couple of months ago and the Brower’s had a two wheel Harley and now decided to move up to the three-wheeler. They really enjoy the comforts of the new bike.

Bruce retired last year from KSIR and took a job with homeland security at Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita.  Don’t try and carry on something that you are not suppose to, you might see Bruce saying, “I need for you to come with me”!

Way to go Bruce and Le Ann!

I know there are a few others of us that still ride motorcycles and enjoy the wind and bugs in our faces!

Found former classmate    Comments

A couple of months ago I located a former grade school – HHS junior year classmate, Paul McNeff.  He attended Central grade school, Faris, Central Jr. High and then HHS.

His family moved to California after his junior year. Paul last visit to Hutchinson was in 1970!  We visited over the phone for almost forty-five minutes recalling our youth days. What memories we all have growing up.

Paul is the founder and choral director of Kidsingers in California.  You can check out their website: www.kidsingers.org

I’m also listing another site showing them on Good Morning America during the holidays: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQJTAC8kUSA

Just wanted to pass along news about Paul and hopefully I will have located someone else to post!  Maybe Paul will come to our 45th!

New HHS Main Entrance    Comments

Remember back walking into HHS main entrance?  Here is the NEW look to the main entrance!  The transformation that the school is receiving was well overdue.  The buildings would make one think they are on a college campus.  For the ones still living in Hutchinson they get to see the progress everyday. This photo was shot 6/10/10!

Twins that walked the halls    Comments

Remember the days of seeing Nellene and Marlene Gross always together at HHS. Here is a little history I would like to share after visiting with Nellene (Grose)

We only attended our junior and senior year at HHS. We always considered this one of the wisest decisions that we ever made and I still feel that way. My (our) only regret is that we did not go to Hutch sooner. We went to school before that was in a small town, and it was just way to clickish for our tastes. We use to come home crying because of the way that the kids treated each other, but once we started at HHS we come home crying because the kids were so nice. The backstabbing was gone. Mom taught there, but we just were not happy. Dad always taught in Hutch so our junior year we decided to commute with him to Hutch. We dropped him off at school and we went on to the high school. After school, we would go pick him up and head home. As a matter of fact, I can name some other students who had been in small towns and moved to Hutch. It is the same old story! Thank God for HHS and all the wonderful people there!!!!!! May God bless you all!  Nellene

Look who is retiring    Comments

Steve and Susan (Freeman) Brown have retired recently. Susan was a teacher for 35 years and mainly in the Buhler district. Now Steve on the other hand, retired as president of Unruh Fab, Inc. but did not put his feet up. In fact, Steve is seeing the construction at HHS as a substitute teacher!  He said that he really enjoys being at HHS and he sees teachers that we had back at HHS and even junior high school.
He is keeping his options open as we speak.

Susan is going to be a full time nanny, watching their grand daughter while their daughter starts her teaching career!
