Michael E. Schroeder, 56, died Dec. 9, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born March 7, 1950, in Larned, the son of Ted and Geraldine Hendershot Schroeder. In 1968, he graduated from Hutchinson High School, and later attended Hutchinson Community College. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he was a delivery tech for Health Equip for 11 years. He belonged to Park Place Christian Church, attended Friends Bible Church and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose No. 982. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. On Jan. 22, 1983, he married Sherry Lynn Hullet in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Heather and Larry Lac Kamp, Olathe; a brother, Jeff, Wichita; two sisters, Donna and Duane Bontrager, Haven, and Barbara and Dennis Carey, Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Cynthia (Showalter) Brice-Nash, 72, of North Huntington, PA, died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home after a courageous battle fighting cancer for over forty plus years. She was born December 25, 1949, in Hutchinson, KS, daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Evelyn (Wildin) Showalter. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Monroeville, PA. Cynthia was an avid scrapbook-er and would have her own craft shows. Surviving are her husband Richard Brice-Nash; her twin sister Christine Hover, formerly of Hutchinson, KS, and nieces. Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 am to 11am at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin. A Funeral Service will follow at Monroeville Assembly of God, 4561 Old William Penn Hwy, Monroeville, PA at 12 noon with pastor Andy Hoover officiating. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Countryside Baptist Church, 819 West 30th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ron Kyker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary. Richard Owen Slater was born in Hutchinson, KS on February 9, 1950 to Barbara (King) and Robert Slater. He went to his forever home on May 24, 2023. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Computer Science Degree. He worked for National Cash Register for 19 years and then transitioned to business in aerospace. He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife, Debbie; daughters, Natalie (Curtis) of Olathe, KS and Bekki of Wichita; sons, Dustin (Jennifer) of Frederick, CO and Scott (Jessie) of Wichita; sister, Karen of Overland Park, KS; and 11 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Wichita Junior Golf Foundation; 58 E. Dennis Ray Snowbarger, 51, born Sept. 8, 1950, died September 27, 2001 at La Jolla Ca., unknown cause. He was a quality assurance coordinator for First American Financial Corp. He married Karleen Kline in 1972 in Hutchinson and later divorced. Survivors include his life partner, Rick Seuss of San Diego; son, Tugg Snowbarger, San Diego; brother Richard Snowbarger. Janet Arlene (Spence) Washburn, 73, died April 20,2024. She was born December 28, 1950, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to William A. and Lovitous T. (Scruggs) Spence. Janet graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. She worked for Underground Vaults & Storage for 20 years in the Accounts Payable/Payroll department back in 2008. She would ride her own motorcycle for pleasure. In 1969, she married Dave Kuhns and they had one son. She then married Larry A. Washburn, 1972, and they had a daughter and a son. She is survived by: her daughter, Jennifer Owen and her son Troy Washburn, both of Hutchinson, and numerous grandchildren; older brother Ronald Spence, Wichita. Janet was preceded in death by: her parents; son Richard L. Kuhns, and husband Larry A. Washburn. There is no funeral planned at this time according to Old Mission – Heritage. Old Mission – Heritage, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.

Steve A. Stanfill, 65, died July 17, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center due to a blood clot to the lungs. He was born Feb. 21, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Arthur and Cyria (Delrosario) Stanfill. Steve graduated from Hutchinson Community College, Wichita State University, and from an accelerated class at the University of Kansas, graduating Suma Cum Laude, with an MBA in social work and business. He enjoyed spreading the word of Jesus, golfing and kayaking. Steve was an owner and operator of Stanfill Brother Wood Signs, America Media Systems and Motherboards Outdoor and Art Studio Signs in Hutchinson. He married Tammy Wilcox Aug. 13, 1985, in Inman. Steve is survived by his wife, Tammy Stanfill of Hutchinson; son, Aaron Stanfill and wife Karrie of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters, Tessy Salisbury and husband Fred, Samantha Bell and husband Ryan, all of Hutchinson; brothers, Robert Stanfill of Olympia, Wash., Stan Stanfill of Jacksonville, Fla., Arthur Stanfill of Wichita; sister, Diana Wilson of Roswell, NM; brother-in-law, Steve Wilcox; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and best friend, Richard Farney. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service July 26, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Robert A. "Bob" Stockham, 56, died Oct. 12, 2005, in Galichia Heart Hospital, Wichita. He was born Sept. 22, 1949, in Hutchinson, the son of Arthur A. and Margaret J. Danielson Stockham. He was a 1968 graduate of Hutchinson High School. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he worked at Dillon's Warehouse. He belonged to Grace Bible Church, where he taught a Wednesday night youth group. On Aug. 25, 1973, he married Janelle Hoyer. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, Jon and wife, Leah, Hutchinson, and Jake, Denver; and an adored granddaughter, Isabella. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.D. Funeral at Grace Bible Church, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to the church, American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.

Marcus "Marc" Stoesz, 18, died in a car accident early Saturday morning, February 10, 1968, near Hutchinson, along with his classmate and friend Frank Gilliland. The vehicle they were in overturned on a county road three miles northwest of Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 25, 1949 in Madison, Wisconsin to Dr. and Mrs. Paul A Stoesz, and a senior at Hutchinson High School and had lived here since 1954. He is survived by his parents of the home; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. A.D. Stoesz, Lincoln, Neb; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lowe, Souix City, Iowa; sister Darcy, of the home; brothers, David, Wichita; Timothy, of the home. Funeral was Monday at Johnson and Sons Chapel, Hutchinson and burial was at Memorial Park, Hutchinson.

David Dean Stout, 71, of Republic, MO, and formerly of Hutchinson, died July 18, 2022, at his home from Parkinson Disease. He was born September 29, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Gerald Arthur and Laura Maxine “Mickey” (Daines) Stout. David graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968 and attended Hutchinson Community College. He served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. David was a salesman for Pella Windows and Doors for 33 years before he retired. He was a member of Crossways Baptist Church. David loved fishing, boating, dancing, and his country. On March 20, 1993, he married Charlotte Elizabeth “Betty” Jackson, in Hutchinson. She survives. Also surviving are: his daughters, Carrie Ronge of Tacoma, WA, Angie Hernbloom (Marc Galeski) of Olathe, Sherri Jones (Bob) of Springfield, MO, Tina Guern of Hutchinson; sons, Jack Elam of Springfield, MO, Jason Elam (Shannon) of Nixa, MO; sisters, Pamala Husle (Bill) and Brenda Chastain (Wesley) of South Hutchinson; 3 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. David was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Diana Krieg; and a niece, Annie Struthers. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Bill Allen Stull, 70, of Hutchinson, died November 22, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, after a long battle with COPD. He was born June 5, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Howard and Charity (Scholtisseck) Stull. Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968, and then from Regents College. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard and later in the United States Army Reserve, retiring as a major. Bill worked for the BNSF Railroad as a machine operator for over 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post 906 and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68. Bill was interested in ancestry, history, and politics. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by his family dearly. On July 30, 1977, Bill married Margaret Wilson in Wichita. They shared 43 years together. He is survived by: wife, Margaret Stull, Hutchinson; sons, Roger Stull, Hutchinson, Rodney Stull, Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Stull (Jackie), Wichita; daughter, Rebecca Rivera (Maurice), Hutchinson; sisters, Jane Hawks (Sidney), Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Sue Cone, Farmington, Arkansas; and many other family members. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Stephen Hawks. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Judy Ann (Stunkel) Green, 60, died December 30, 2010, at Hospice House. She was born September 16, 1950, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the daughter of August Louis Stunkel and Alice Marie Heathcott Stunkel Adams. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. She was a homemaker, secretary and worked in medical records. On June 19, 1993, she married Alan Paul Green in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include; a daughter, Tabitha Maxfield of Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Courtney Haverdint of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; stepson, Scott Green of Norfolk, Nebraska; two sisters, Tina Schmidt and husband Dale of McPherson, Shellie Krueger and husband Chris of Webster, Minnesota; two brothers, Billy Stunkel and wife Debbie and Robert Stunkel and wife Mari all of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and her loyal Shih-Tzu companions Murphy and Patches. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; Dorthea and Luis Stunkel and Noah and Lela Heathcott. Funeral service January 3rd, 2011, at Elliott Chapel. Samuel Ted Sutton, 71, died November 27, 2020, at Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri. Ted was born October 29, 1949 to Joseph K Sutton and Ruby Mae Cross Sutton. Survivors: two sisters: Shirlee Jo Parks, HHS class of 1967, Independence, MO; Neva (Bob) Sutton. His parents and sister Linda K. Asplund, HHS class of 1965, preceded him. A graveside service for Ted was held December 3, 2020 at Bellview Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Terry Swinney, 41, of San Francisco, Calif.; former Hutchinson resident, died Monday, Jan. 21, 1991 at San Mateo,Calif. He was born Nov. 28, 1949 to Everett and Dora Klatt Swinney at Hutchinson, Kansas. He was a former Kaiser Hospital employee. Survivors: brothers: Frank of Larned, Dennis, Bill Light, both of Hutchinson, Ed Light of Wichita; sister, Karen Ratzloff, Wichita. His parents, sister and brother preceded him in death. Memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
