Stephen Royce Palmer, 71, died August 14, 2021 at Newton, KS. He was born December 10, 1949, the son of Charles M. & Dolores Palmer. Stephen was a Vietnam Army veteran. Trying to locate an obituary for Stephen but no success so far.
David Lynn Perrin, 65, died February 3, 2015 in Tahuya, WA, unknown cause. He was born on Nov. 11, 1949 in Little River, Kan. to Ralph and Emma May Perrin . In 1969, David enlisted in the USN and served with MU-11 EOD Special Forces in Vietnam and earned a Bronze Star, and was a PurpleHeart recipient. He was honorably discharged in 1973. David was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his stepson, mother, brother, and nieces. Services held at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home by the flagpole on February 20th at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society, Disabled American Vets, and the Native American Society.
Robert Lee Phillips, 68, of Brooksville, Fl. passed away August 7, 2017 at his home from cancer. He was born May 7, 1949 in Salina, Kansas and attended his sophomore and junior years at Hutchinson High School. He came to this area 40 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Spec. 4 and served 14 months in Viet Nam. He was a self-employed electrician and a member of Anchor Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat Phillips; son, Shane Phillips of Brooksville, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Autumn and Johnny Erickson of Texas; brother, Fred Phillips of Oklahoma; sisters, Jackie Beach of Tennessee, Linda Eye of Missouri, Teresa McCaughey of Kansas; grandchildren, Shane Phillips II, Jessie, Tommy, Ember, Emma Erickson. A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held August 11, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Laroy “L.A.” Alvie Posey, 73, of Burrton, Kansas, passed away on January 10, 2023, from cancer. He was born on September 23, 1949, in Stafford Kansas, the son of Walter Alvie Posey and Chlora (Beitler) Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rexine McPhail, and his daughter Janette Posey. He left behind Brenda Horine and Danielle Horine of Burrton, KS; Bethel Posey of El Dorado, KS; Amanda (Noah) Dorey of Towanda, KS; Cassandra Posey of Salina, KS; and grandchildren Kimber Dorey, Eli Dorey, Tyson Gilliland, and Tanner Gilliland - Posey. L.A., was able to fix or build just about anything, he could ride a unicycle and play an accordion. HE LIVED HARD, WORKED HARD, and DIED HARD as per his request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center is handling arrangements.
