Bob LaClair

Robert G. LaClair, 61, died Jan. 24, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center from a heart attack. He was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Gene (died 1999) and Beverly (Beal) LaClair (died 2019). He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, Bob was a core purchaser at Consolidated Manufacturing from 1967-1992. He was a truck driver at Mid America Redi-Mix for 14 years and at Royer Brothers Tree Service since May 2008. Bob loved to spend time with his grandchildren and attend their activities. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and going to the lake. On Dec.16, 1967, he married Valarie L. Plouffe in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: son, James J. LaClair (Tasia) of Hutchinson; daughter, Darcy L. Mikels (David) of Northville, Mich.; seven grandchildren. Graveside service was held Jan. 28, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

Don Lancaster Army

Donald Eugene Lancaster, 73, of Amarillo, Tx, passed from this life March 24, 2023. He was born on January 3, 1950 in Cabool, MO, to Leslie and Ida Lancaster. Donald moved to Hutchinson, KS. at an early age, graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1968. He began military service in 1969 for the Army, serving in Korea. Donald met the love of his life, Pam Solida in 1972 and they married August 17, 1973 in Miami, Ok. After his military service, he worked for Bett’s Bakery and Kansas State Industrial Reformatory in Hutchinson. Donald moved to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in 1978 and worked as house parents until 1984. He moved to Amarillo in 1984, going to work for Potter County Sheriff’s Office until retiring on February 2003 as a Sergeant. Donald is survived by his wife; Pamela Lancaster, daughters; Alicia Stringer and husband Robert, Kendra Haiduk and husband Derek, 4 grandchildren; JoHanna Haiduk(Courtney), Bella Haiduk, Nathan Stringer and Tori Stringer; 3 sisters; Leslie Aikens, Connie Abitz, and Joy Sloan, 2 brothers; Nelson Lancaster, and Jon Lancaster. He is preceded in death by his parents; Leslie Lancaster passing October 28, 2003, Ida Lancaster passing May 2, 1999, sister; Karolyn Lancaster passing May 21,1939, brother; Tom Lancaster passing January 1, 2008, Father-In-Law; Keno Solida passing October 16, 1985, and Mother-In-Law; Aliene Solida passing November 2, 2013. Family requests all memorials go to: Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57, VFW #1475, or Veterans Resource Center. Donald will be missed by both his family and friends.

Larry Lee Army

Larry A. Lee, 57, Lathrop, Mo., died Sept. 10, 2006, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo. He had a heart attack while shopping with his wife. Born April 15, 1949, in Hutchinson, Kan., he lived here until entering the U.S. Army in 1970. He retired from the Army in 1993, serving twenty-three years at the rank of E-8 (First Sergeant) and lived in Lathrop, Mo. In 1977, he met Linda Adams while being stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. She survives of the home along with other family members. Larry was with the 82nd Airborne as a Paratrooper; Senior Drill Instructor and Field Artilleryman. He then worked for Northrup Grumman as a defense contractor. He was also a substitute teacher and ISS teacher for Lathrop School District. He loved hunting, fishing and making his own fishing lures. He loved to read, especially American History about the Civil War. Graveside service in Lathrop, Mo., with the Ft. Leavenworth Military Honor Guard.

Mike Lemen Army

Michael H. Lemen, 67, was born in Hutchinson, Ks. on July 4, 1950, the son of Howard C. and Jaunita (Emery) Lemen. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 27, 2018, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Mike was a devoted husband and family man. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 47 wonderful years. He spent many enjoyable hours coaching both daughters softball teams through grade school and loved relaxing on his lawn mower. He was an avid dog lover raising and training German Shepherds and went on many vacation trips throughout the US and abroad. He was a faithful member of the Northridge Friends Church and had a servants heart volunteering in various ministries. He was also a youth mentor for Youth Horizons. Graduated from WSU with a degree in Administration of Justice and before retiring, he managed Logistics for Spirit AeroSystems. Mike was proud of his military service, serving a tour in Vietnam with the US Army. Mike is survived by: his wife, Bridget; daughters, Molley (Jeremy) Taylor, Melissa (Luke) Tucker; granddaughters, Brooke and Jillian Taylor, and Claire Tucker; mother, Juanita Lemen; brothers, Cliff, David (Lindy), Greg (Barbara) Lemen; two devoted furry friends, Kaiser and Little Buddy. A private family burial will be held.

Carla Jean (Little) Cook, 33, died June 1, 1984, at Rapid City, SD., after a short illness with a heart ailment. Born Carla Jean Little Oct. 23, 1950, in Hutchinson. She married Maj. Thomas F Cook Sept. 14, 1973, in Hutchinson. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Debra (Love) (Thomas) West, died January 2018 in Fort Scott, KS. No obituary could be found. From her HHS 45th Reunion bio, she was a psychologist. Her husband Daniel Ardee West died 2014 in Hutchinson. She is survived by children: Jason Craig Thomas, Matthew Bernard Thomas and Spencer Lowell Thomas. Her father, Keith M Love died in 1999 in Hutchinson and her mother Darlene Joy Loved died 2011 in Hutchinson.

Donna K. (Luman) Graves, 59, born in Hutchinson, Ks. April 12, 1950, daughter of Charles (died 1969) and Gladys Luman (died 2013), passed away August 31, 2009. She will be missed by all who loved her dearly. After graduating from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College, Donna worked as a Medical Records Technician in Dallas, Tx. and in Kansas City, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and day trips into the country to places she hadn’t been. Life was her passion as all her friends knew. Donna is survived and loved by her husband John, sons Dane and Drew, stepdaughter Diahnn Hutchinson, brothers Richard Luman (Mary), Larry Luman (Mary); sister Marcia Johnson, all her nieces and nephews and their children, her Kansas City Mom Eloise Walker, M&M, Chloe, Jennifer, Suzie and Midnight. Larry Lundquist Navy

Larry Lundquist, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Hospice in Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 5, 1950, the son of Eugene & Marietta Lundquist. He was a resident of Hutchinson most of life. At an early age, Larry had the gift of being artistic in drawing and working with clay and you would see him sketching and drawing up until he passed. In fact, he won a few ribbons for his artwork that he entered at the Kansas State Fair early in life. He enjoyed cars like most of us in school and that led him to O'Mara Pontiac car dealership in Hutchinson selling cars in the 80's. Larry was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. Survivors: a daughter; two brothers: David & Michael J. Lundquist. His parents preceded him in death. Larry was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
